My dad is dead. If I saw something that said reblog if you appreciate your dad, I would say “Fuck yeah. I love that man.” He is still my dad, my only one. I still love and appreciate him with every bone in my body. THIS is what this is meant for. Appreciating someone and showing it on your blog doesn’t mean they will see it with their own eyes, or that you have to go run up to them and tell them. It’s a declaration to the people viewing your blog.

It’s selfish to rob someone of the right to show their love for their parent. I will admit to being sensitive in the past, but I’ve learned that we should be promoting this. What REALLY stings is witnessing someone treat their parent like complete shit.

I think it’s funny that people are still petrified of Detroit. I mean, really? There’s murders, robberies and everything else in every other major city in the nation. But Detroit’s got the bad rap. Have you ever heard of Oakland? And isn’t NOLA still the murder capital of the south? I am the whitest girl in the world and I’ve got no problems walking through any part of Detroit in the middle of the night without a weapon to guard me. Doesn’t phase me a bit. Hell, I lived in the ghetto parts twice, never once was I ever fucked with. And I was a kid both times. I think the only times I ever locked the doors when left alone was when I was going to bed so my mom wouldn’t freak out on me when she got home later.

Seriously, if a little suburbanite girl like me can deal with the Big D - there’s no reason for ANYONE to ever be afraid. You guys pay too much attention to the media.
